This is the third landscape of the Spanish landscapes series. The Montserrat range is a very famous landmark in Catalonia, it is a holy mountain. A monastery sits on it, where you can find Our Lady of Montserrat, known as ‘La Moreneta’, the most iconic Virgin in Catalonia. The mountain has a fascinating shape (in Catalan ‘Montserrat’ means sawn mountain). The most spectacular sight is from a nearby town, Manresa. I love the contrast between that beautiful background and some spots in the city that do not look that nice.
